A homeschool curriculum for the next generation of Christian homemakers

the welcome home academy of home economics

Equipping the next generation for a life of faith, family, and home.

What if home economics could be about more than learning how to sew a button or balance a checkbook?

What if it could teach young women how to steward resources, nourish others, cultivate a welcoming home, practice hospitality, and serve God through the everyday work of home?

The Welcome Home Academy of Home Economics is a Christian homeschool curriculum designed to equip middle and high school students with the practical skills, biblical perspective, and character needed to confidently care for a home and serve others well.

home economics, from the heart

Practical skills. Biblical truth. Lifelong confidence.

Home economics has always been about preparing young people for the practical responsibilities of everyday life.

The Welcome Home Academy takes that timeless idea and brings it into the modern Christian homeschool classroom.

Students learn practical skills while exploring the deeper question:

Why does the work of home matter?

Through biblical teaching, hands-on learning, practical life skills, and character development, students are encouraged to see household management not simply as a collection of tasks—but as an opportunity to steward what God has entrusted to us and serve the people He has placed in our lives.

The Welcome Home Academy mission

To cultivate capable, confident, and Christ-centered young women who understand the home as a place of stewardship, service, hospitality, and ministry.

The Welcome Home Academy blends practical home economics with a biblical worldview, helping students develop skills that will serve them throughout their lives.

We believe education should prepare students not only to know, but to do and not only to do, but to understand why it matters.

why christian home economics

Because skills are only part of the lesson.

A student can learn how to make a budget.

But can she understand stewardship?

She can learn how to prepare a meal.

But can she understand nourishment?

She can learn how to clean a home.

But can she understand service?

She can learn how to host a gathering.

But can she understand hospitality?

The Welcome Home Academy connects the practical with the purposeful so students aren't simply learning how to manage a home- they're learning to understand the why behind the work.

Curriculum with a purpose.

The Welcome Home Academy was created specifically with Christian homeschooling families in mind.

Parents can use the curriculum to bring meaningful, practical home economics instruction into their homeschool while intentionally incorporating a biblical worldview.

The curriculum is designed to complement a family's broader homeschool program and can be incorporated as a dedicated home economics course or as part of a student's broader life-skills education.

for the mom who is teaching

You don't have to be an expert in homemaking to teach home economics.

The Welcome Home Academy is designed to give homeschool parents a clear framework for teaching practical homemaking skills while providing meaningful opportunities for discussion, application, and hands-on learning.

You bring your family's unique rhythms and values.

We'll help provide the roadmap.

a biblical foundation

Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.

— Psalm 127:1

The Welcome Home Academy is built on the belief that the home is more than a physical structure.

It is a place where faith is lived out, relationships are nurtured, character is formed, hospitality is practiced, and people are served.

Students are encouraged to approach the work of homemaking with diligence, wisdom, gratitude, responsibility, and love.

the goal

We aren't simply teaching students how to run a home.

We're helping them understand the privilege of building one.

A home where people are welcomed.

A home where resources are stewarded wisely.

A home where meals nourish.

A home where hospitality is practiced.

A home where work is valued.

A home where faith is lived.

A home where people feel loved.

That is the heart of Welcome Home.
